Booking and payment
- Where is RushXO based and who licenses it?
- RushXO is based in Dartford, Kent, and is a private hire operator licensed by Transport for London (operator licence 11588), registered in England and Wales as company 16464640, with £10 million of public liability insurance. See about RushXO.
- Can I book a RushXO transfer without a UK phone number?
- Yes. Bookings are made on the online booking page from any country, and confirmation goes to your email and to WhatsApp on whatever number you give us, including non-UK numbers. Put your flight number on the booking and we do the rest; you do not need a UK SIM to be picked up.
- Can I pay cash for a London airport transfer?
- Bookings made on rushxo.com are paid by card in pounds sterling when you book, so the fare is settled before you fly and there is nothing to pay in the car — useful if you land without UK cash. If you need to pay another way, message us on WhatsApp before booking and we will tell you what is possible.
- What confirmation do I receive after booking?
- An email confirming the pickup time, addresses, vehicle type and the fixed fare, plus the same details by WhatsApp. Driver name, vehicle and registration follow before the journey. If you do not see the email within a few minutes, check spam and message us with the name on the booking.
- Can I get a receipt or invoice for business travel?
- Your confirmation email shows the fare paid and is accepted by most expense systems as the receipt. If your employer needs a document addressed to the company, contact us with your booking reference and the company details and we will send one.
- Can I change my pickup address after booking?
- Yes — message us on WhatsApp with the booking reference and the new address as soon as you know. Because fares are fixed by route, a different address may change the price, and we confirm the new fare before the change is made.
- Can I cancel a booking if my appointment or plans change?
- Tell us as early as you can, by WhatsApp or phone, quoting the booking reference. Cancellation terms depend on how close to the pickup time you cancel and are set out on our terms of service. Flight delays are not cancellations: we track the flight and move the pickup.
Groups, families and business
- Can I book multiple taxis for a large group?
- Yes. Up to eight passengers travel in one 8-seater; larger groups are split across vehicles to the same pickup and timing. Book each vehicle on the online booking page with the same flight number, or send the passenger count and luggage on WhatsApp and we will propose the simplest combination. See group transport from Heathrow.
- Can I book multiple taxis for a corporate event?
- Yes — give us the venue, the arrival window and the number of passengers and we schedule the vehicles as one job with a single point of contact. For ongoing business travel, see business travel from London City Airport.
- How far in advance should families book airport taxis?
- As soon as flights are confirmed: it costs nothing extra and secures the vehicle size you need. For Christmas week, bank holidays and cruise Saturdays, book at least a week ahead. Our Heathrow with children guide covers seats, luggage and terminal meeting points.
- How reliable is RushXO for business travel?
- The fare is fixed at booking, the driver is dispatched to the tracked arrival time rather than the scheduled one, and every driver works under our Transport for London operator licence (11588). Repeat bookings take a minute on the booking page.
- Is RushXO a good option for solo business travellers who fly to Heathrow often?
- Yes, particularly for early departures and late arrivals when the Elizabeth line and Heathrow Express are thin or not running. Compare the options in Heathrow Express vs taxi and the Heathrow taxi cost guide.
- Is a private transfer more expensive for a solo traveller than public transport?
- Usually, yes, for one person in daytime with light luggage — the Elizabeth line from Heathrow is a few pounds. It stops being true late at night, with heavy luggage, from Gatwick, Stansted or Luton with a train change, or when you value a door-to-door arrival after a long flight. Oyster vs contactless vs taxi sets out the real numbers.
At the airport
- Can RushXO collect us from the arrivals hall when we return from holiday?
- Yes. Meet-and-greet means the driver waits inside arrivals with a name board, helps with luggage and walks you to the car. Give us the flight number when you book; if the flight is late, the driver is re-timed automatically. See how meet and greet works.
- Can the driver wait while I grab a coffee?
- A few minutes is rarely a problem — just tell the driver. If you want a proper stop on the way (a shop, a second pickup, a coffee stop), say so when you book so it is priced into the fixed fare rather than negotiated in the car.
- How do solo female travellers verify their RushXO driver?
- Before the journey you receive the driver's name, the vehicle and its registration. Match all three before getting in, and ask the driver to confirm the name on the booking. Every driver holds a Transport for London private hire licence; if anything does not match, do not board and call us on +44 20 8888 9988.
- Is there entertainment in the car for children?
- Our vehicles are standard saloons and MPVs rather than entertainment-fitted limousines, so bring headphones and devices. What we can do is fit the journey to the family: ask for a child seat when booking and we will confirm availability, choose an MPV for buggies and luggage, and have the driver meet you inside arrivals so nobody is dragging bags across a car park.
Getting around: airports, trains and connections
- How do I get between Heathrow and Gatwick airports?
- There is no direct train. The National Express coach takes roughly 65–90 minutes and runs less often overnight; a fixed-fare car is 45–75 minutes terminal to terminal and adjusts to a late inbound flight, which the coach cannot. See the connection time guide and all London airports.
- What is the best way to get between London airports for a connecting flight?
- Allow at least four hours between landing and the next departure if you are changing airports. A pre-booked car with the inbound flight number is the only option that adjusts to a late arrival; trains and coaches do not. The connection time guide has the timings for each pair.
- How do I get to Gatwick from London at 4am?
- Overnight, trains to Gatwick thin out to roughly hourly Thameslink services and the Gatwick Express does not start until around 5am; night buses take well over an hour. A pre-booked fixed-fare car leaves when you need it, at the fare agreed in advance, and there is no night rate. See Gatwick transfers.
- What time does the last train leave for Heathrow?
- The last Elizabeth line and Piccadilly line services to Heathrow leave central London shortly before midnight (later on Friday and Saturday on the Piccadilly line), and the Heathrow Express ends around 23:30. After that it is a night bus or a car. Check our Heathrow Express vs taxi guide before you rely on a late train.
- Is the Heathrow Express cheaper than a taxi?
- For one or two people to Paddington, yes — advance tickets can be a few pounds each. For a family, a group, or anyone not staying near Paddington, a fixed-fare car to the hotel door is often the same money or less once you add the onward taxi. Heathrow Express vs taxi compares them properly.
- What counts as extraordinary circumstances when a flight is cancelled?
- Under UK261, airlines owe compensation for cancellations and long delays unless caused by extraordinary circumstances — severe weather, air traffic control restrictions, security incidents or political instability, not routine technical faults or crew shortages. Whatever the cause, tell us the new flight number and we re-time your pickup; see the airport meltdown day guide.
