About Stansted

London Stansted Airport (STN) complete transfer service

Stansted Airport (IATA: STN, ICAO: EGSS) is London's third-busiest airport and the fourth-busiest in the UK, handling around 28 million passengers a year. It sits in Essex, about 40 miles north-east of central London, reached directly off the M11 at junction 8. Its Norman Foster-designed terminal is one of the most recognisable airport buildings in the country.

The great advantage of Stansted for a transfer is that it has a single terminal. There is no North/South decision as at Gatwick and no four-way terminal split as at Heathrow — every flight arrives in the same building, so meet-and-greet is as simple as it gets. Your driver waits in the one arrivals hall with a name board, whatever your airline.

Stansted is Ryanair's largest base and a hub for easyJet, Jet2 and TUI, which means a heavy schedule of very early-morning departures — often between 4am and 6am. RushXO specialises in these pre-dawn runs: a pre-booked car, a fixed fare and a driver at your door on time, so you are not chasing an app at 3am. Because Stansted faces north-east, it is also the natural airport for Cambridge, Hertfordshire, Essex and Suffolk.

Why RushXO

Why RushXO for Stansted transfers

Built for early flights. Stansted's Ryanair-led schedule means a wall of departures before 6am. A pre-booked RushXO car is at your door in the small hours at a fixed price — no 4am surge, no app roulette when you cannot afford to miss check-in.

One terminal, no confusion. With a single arrivals hall there is no terminal to get wrong. Your driver is waiting with a name board the moment you clear the concourse, and helps with the luggage. We track your flight, so a delay or an early landing is handled without a call from you.

Local to Essex, Herts & Cambridge. Because we work this side of London, our fixed fares to Cambridge, Bishop's Stortford, Harlow and across Essex are keen — often better value than a London-based operator running out to the M11.

Terminal guide

Stansted Airport terminal guide

One terminal for everything. Every airline at Stansted — Ryanair, easyJet, Jet2, TUI and the rest — uses the same Foster-designed terminal, so arrivals and departures are all in one place. There is no inter-terminal shuttle to worry about and no chance of being dropped at the wrong building.

Arrivals. After baggage reclaim you come out into the main arrivals concourse. Your driver meets you here with a name board. If you would like to be collected from a specific coffee shop or exit, just say so when you book and we will arrange it.

Departures & drop-off. The set-down area sits directly in front of the terminal. A drop-off charge applies (payable at the barrier); we include it in your fixed fare so there is nothing extra to pay on the day. For early departures we recommend building in a little buffer — the security hall gets busy with the pre-6am rush.

Coach & rail. Stansted is a major National Express hub and the Stansted Express terminates here, so the forecourt is busy. A pre-booked car keeps you out of the queues and takes you door-to-door.

How it works

How our fixed-price model works

Enter your pickup and Stansted as the destination — or the reverse — and we return one fixed price for the whole journey. That price is confirmed at booking and is exactly what you pay: it does not change with M11 traffic, the hour of your flight, or how busy the airport is.

The fare includes the driver's time, fuel, the meet-and-greet, flight tracking, the Stansted drop-off charge and free waiting after landing. There is no meter, and — importantly for a 5am Stansted run — no night or early-morning surcharge.

Fleet

Our Stansted fleet

Saloon — up to 4 passengers, 2 large cases. The standard Stansted transfer, ideal for the early-flight solo traveller or couple.

Executive — Mercedes E-Class or BMW 5 Series with a suited chauffeur, for business trips to the City or Cambridge.

MPV 6-seater — groups and families with holiday luggage; child seats free on request.

8-seater minibus — the whole group on a budget-airline getaway, together on one fixed fare.

Meet & greet

Meet-and-greet at Stansted's single terminal

With just one terminal, Stansted is the easiest London airport to be met at. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board — no car park, no phone call from outside. We track your flight so the driver is there when you land, whether you are early or delayed.

You get 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, covering baggage reclaim and the walk out. The driver helps with your luggage and takes you straight to the car. For the notoriously early Stansted departures, we confirm your pickup the night before so there is no doubt at 3am.

FAQ

Stansted Airport transfers frequently asked questions

How much is a taxi from Stansted to central London?
A fixed-price saloon to central London is from £85, agreed at booking with no meter and no surge. Stansted is further out than Heathrow or Gatwick — about 40 miles up the M11 — so the fare reflects the distance. Executive, MPV and minibus are quoted the same way.
Which terminal do I need at Stansted?
Just the one — Stansted has a single terminal used by every airline, so there is no North/South or numbered-terminal decision to make. Your driver meets you in the one arrivals hall with a name board.
Can you handle a very early morning flight?
Yes — this is our specialism at Stansted. The airport is packed with 4–6am Ryanair and easyJet departures, and we run pre-dawn pickups at a fixed fare with no early-morning surcharge. We confirm your booking the night before so your car is there on time.
How far is Stansted from Cambridge?
About 30 miles, or 40–55 minutes up the M11 — one of the most popular Stansted routes. Fixed fares to Cambridge start from around £55, ideal for students and academics with luggage.
Is a taxi cheaper than the Stansted Express?
For one person travelling light, the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street (about 47 minutes) is usually cheaper. For two or more, an early flight before the trains run, or a door-to-door trip with luggage, a fixed-fare car is often better value — and it goes to your actual address, not just to Liverpool Street.
Do you cover Bishop's Stortford, Harlow and Essex?
Yes — Stansted is on our doorstep, so Bishop's Stortford, Harlow and the wider Essex/Hertfordshire area are local runs for us, from about £30 fixed at booking.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
We track your flight and adjust the pickup automatically. After landing you have 60 minutes of free waiting, and if baggage or immigration overruns, the driver waits — the fixed fare does not change.
Are you available 24/7?
Yes — given Stansted's early schedule we run around the clock, at the same fixed fare, with no night surcharge.
