Bicester Village from London and Heathrow by car: fixed day-return fares, timings, and the train compared
Bicester Village is 150 designer outlet boutiques in Oxfordshire, open 09:00 to 20:00 every day, and one of the most-visited places in Britain for overseas shoppers. The train from Marylebone is quick and pleasant on the way out; it is less pleasant on the way back with eight carrier bags at 18:00 on a Saturday. A fixed-price car day return from London or Heathrow — driver waits, bags go straight in the boot — is what the concierges book.

When to go
Weekday mornings are calm; Saturdays and the days after Christmas are not. The Village opens at 09:00 — a car leaving central London at 07:45 or Heathrow at 08:00 arrives for opening. Boxing Day (Saturday 26 December 2026) and the Christmas sale week are the busiest days of the year, and most trains do not run on Boxing Day — see Boxing Day taxi in London.
The Heathrow stopover shop
A popular itinerary for long-haul visitors: land at Heathrow, luggage in the car, Bicester by 10:00, four hours' shopping, back to the London hotel by mid-afternoon, or straight on to Oxford (25 minutes) for the night. Hotels book this on account for guests — see hotel and concierge accounts.
Tax-free shopping note
The UK ended VAT refunds for overseas visitors in 2021; there is no tax-free shopping at Bicester Village for non-UK residents at present. Prices are still typically 30–60% below RRP. See the Bicester Village visitor pages for services, hands-free shopping and the guest concierge.
