Gatwick private transfer & arrival pickup (LGW)
Gatwick is London's second airport and, for many visitors from North America, the Gulf and Europe, the first thing they see of England. It sits 30 miles south of the city, has two terminals that are not within walking distance of each other, and its rail link takes you to Victoria — not to your hotel. A pre-booked private transfer removes all of that: your driver is in the arrivals hall of the right terminal, the fare to London, Brighton or Southampton cruise port was fixed in pounds when you booked, and 60 minutes of waiting after landing is included.
North or South? Finding your driver at Gatwick
Gatwick has a North Terminal and a South Terminal, linked by a free shuttle train that runs every few minutes (about a 2-minute ride). Airlines are split between them, and the split changes from time to time, so we go by your flight number and confirm the terminal on the day. As a rough guide:

What happens between the plane and the car
- UK Border. eGates for eligible nationalities (US, Canada, Australia, NZ, EU, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and others, aged 10+); officer desks for everyone else. Have your ETA approved before you fly — the airline checks it at departure.
- Baggage reclaim and customs. Gatwick's reclaim halls are close to the border control area; the walk is short.
- Arrivals hall. Your driver, your name, your car. Central London is typically 60–85 minutes by road; Brighton about an hour; Southampton 2 hours or a little more.

Gatwick Express or a car? An honest answer for visitors
The Gatwick Express reaches Victoria in about 30 minutes and is a good choice for one person with a carry-on staying near Victoria. For everyone else it is only half the journey: from Victoria you still need a second leg with your luggage to the hotel, and after 23:00 or before 05:00 the timetable thins out. Two people with two cases each usually find the door-to-door car costs about the same as two train tickets plus the onward cab, and takes no longer.
