Christmas week is when families most need the airport run to just work — and when the trains least reliably do.
Car seats: what we provide and UK law in private hire
UK law exempts licensed taxis and private hire vehicles from the child-seat requirement when a seat is not available, so most cars will legally carry a child without one — but that is not the same as safe, and we would rather fit the right seat. Tell us the ages and weights when you book and we fit infant carriers, forward-facing seats or boosters at no charge. Bringing your own seat is fine too; the driver will help fit it.

Meet and greet with children
The driver is in the arrivals hall with a name board, so there is no walk to a rank with tired children. Sixty minutes' free waiting after landing covers a slow baggage hall, and the flight is tracked so a delay just moves the pickup. At Heathrow the meeting points are covered in the meet-and-greet guide; the driver will help with trolleys and the pushchair.

Booking tips for Christmas week
- Book by 20 December for 24–26 December, and by 15 December for New Year.
- Give us the flight number — the pickup follows the flight.
- Say how many cases and presents; we size the vehicle so nothing is on anyone's lap.
- Ask for child seats by age.
- On 25 and 26 December and 1 January there is little or no train service — the car is not the luxury option, it is the option.

- Do you provide child seats?
- Yes, free on request — infant, forward-facing and booster seats. Tell us the children's ages when you book.
- Can we bring our own car seat?
- Yes. The driver will help fit it and it travels with you.
- How much luggage fits in an MPV?
- Up to six passengers with four or five large cases, or fewer passengers with more luggage. An 8-seater takes up to seven passengers with seven cases.
