Same Driver, Regular Bookings

The best car service is the one nobody thinks about. A standing booking runs your journey every day or every week without re-booking — the 7am commute, the Tuesday school run, the Friday trip to the constituency office — at the same fixed fare, with the same vetted driver wherever rotas allow. Set it once with a single call; pause it for holidays with a single message; and it survives your own annual leave untouched.

Why consistency

What a consistent driver changes

By the second week, a regular driver stops being a service and starts being staff: they know the door code quirk, which side the boss exits, that Tuesday means the gym bag, and that silence before 8am is policy. For the PA, the standing booking deletes an entire category of daily admin — and deletes the daily flicker of "did the car get booked?" with it.

Trust

A known face at the door

The same driver greeting the same passenger builds the kind of trust apps can't: principals who won't text a stranger will text "running 5 late" to a driver they know by name.

Continuity

Cover without chaos

When your regular driver is on leave, a briefed deputy from the same small rota covers — introduced in advance by name, primed on the preferences, never a cold stranger at 6:55am.

Certainty

A fare that stays put

The rate is locked when the standing booking is set, and holds across seasons, fuel prices and Friday nights. Budgeting a year of commutes takes one multiplication.

School runs

The school run, done properly

Trusting a car service with children is a different decision to trusting one with meetings, and we treat it that way. School-run drivers hold enhanced DBS checks, are introduced to parents and children before the first journey, and follow your written protocol: named adults at handover, confirmation messages on pickup and drop-off, child seats fitted to age, and never an unannounced substitute — cover drivers meet the family first, full stop.

The setup meeting

Parents or the family PA meet the assigned driver, agree the handover rules and walking-in arrangements, and set the term-time calendar including half-terms and inset days.

Every morning

Pickup confirmation as the children board, drop-off confirmation at the gate, and the same face both ends — with the school's own signing-in procedures followed to the letter.

Term after term

The calendar rolls forward automatically each term; clubs, fixtures and Wednesday-early-finish variations are stored as patterns, not weekly phone calls.

FAQ

Standing bookings — common questions

Can I really get the same driver every time?

Wherever rotas allow, yes — each standing booking is assigned a regular driver, with a small briefed deputy pool for leave cover. Cover drivers are introduced by name in advance, and for school runs they meet the family before ever driving the children.

How do I pause a standing booking for holidays?

One message to dispatch — or holiday dates set in advance at setup — pauses the pattern and restarts it automatically. Nothing is charged for paused dates, and the fare and driver are held for your return.

Are school-run drivers specially checked?

Yes — school-run drivers hold enhanced DBS checks on top of TfL licensing, follow your written handover protocol with named adults, send pickup and drop-off confirmations every journey, and child seats are fitted to each child's age.

Does the fare change over time?

The fare is locked when the standing booking is set and holds regardless of day, hour or season. Any future rate review is proposed to you in writing in advance — never applied silently.

What happens if the passenger is running late?

Regular drivers flex within reason as part of the relationship — a known passenger texting "5 minutes" gets 5 minutes. Persistent pattern changes are simply re-timed in the standing booking rather than charged as waiting.

Can a PA manage several standing bookings at once?

Yes — one PA commonly runs the principal's commute, the school run and a spouse's weekly journeys from a single account view, each pattern with its own driver, calendar and invoice line.

Can standing bookings include airport runs?

Yes — weekly or fortnightly airport patterns (the Monday redeye, the Friday return) run as standing bookings with flight tracking applied to each instance automatically.
