The problem with hailing
Licensed private hire drivers are entitled to decline a booking with an animal (assistance dogs excepted, which must always be carried by law). Ride-hail apps have a pet option that is often ignored. The result: you are standing outside a vet, or a station, or an airport, with a carrier and a cancelled ride.
Tell us at booking. We assign a driver who is happy to carry your animal, in a vehicle with the space for a crate. No refusals at the kerb, no surprise cleaning charge.
What we ask
- Tell us the animal and the size. A cat in a carrier and a Great Dane are different bookings.
- Crates and carriers are welcome — and for larger dogs we will send a vehicle with a boot that works.
- Assistance dogs travel free, always, without notice, as the law requires.
Where people take pets
- Vets and emergency clinics — including at night, which is when it usually matters
- Airports — for pets travelling in cabin or as cargo (allow extra time for the animal reception centre at Heathrow)
- Catteries and kennels before a holiday
- House moves — the animal in the car with you, not in a van
