Luton private transfer & arrival pickup (LTN)
Luton is 35 miles north of London and, of the capital's airports, the one where public transport asks the most of an arriving visitor: a DART people-mover to Luton Airport Parkway, then a train to St Pancras, then whatever gets you and your cases the last mile. A pre-booked private transfer collapses that into one step — a driver in the arrivals hall with your name, a fare fixed in pounds when you booked from home, and 60 minutes of free waiting from the moment you land.
Finding your driver at Luton
Luton has a single terminal. After the UK Border and baggage reclaim you come through customs into the arrivals hall; your driver is there with a Rushxo name board. Because Luton's forecourt has restricted stopping and drop-off charges, meeting inside is the only sensible way to be collected — the driver takes your luggage and walks you to the car in the short-stay car park. Why visitors with luggage skip the DART and train
- The DART is a shuttle to Luton Airport Parkway station, not a train to London. You buy a ticket, ride, then buy another ticket for the train.
- Trains to St Pancras take 25–45 minutes and can be busy at commuter times; late at night they thin out, and some services are replaced by buses during engineering work.
- From St Pancras you still have to reach your hotel with everything you brought.
For one person with a backpack it is fine. For a couple with suitcases, a family, or anyone landing after 22:00, the door-to-door car is usually about the same money and far less work. If the DART or trains are disrupted, see alternatives when the Luton DART is not running.

The Home Counties, not just London
A lot of Luton's arriving passengers are not going to London at all. Visitors to family in St Albans and Harpenden, delegates heading to Milton Keynes, students for Cambridge, Bedford and Hertfordshire universities — all are quicker by road from Luton than from any other airport. Give us the full address and the fare is fixed to the door.
Booking from abroad
- Any international card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal, charged in GBP. 30% deposit to confirm, nothing to pay on the day.
- Flight number, not pickup time. We watch the aircraft; if it is early or late, the driver adjusts.
- WhatsApp from anywhere: +44 20 8888 9988. Message when you have your bags; we send the driver's name, photo and registration.
- Child seats on request. Assistance for older or disabled passengers — what to expect.
Delays and diversions
The driver is dispatched to the live landing time and 60 minutes of free waiting begins when the wheels touch down. If you are held at the border past that, a single WhatsApp message keeps the car in place. Diverted to Stansted or East Midlands? Call or message and we re-route the pickup: what happens when your flight is diverted.
Licensed and insured
Rushxo is a Transport for London licensed private hire operator (licence 11588), a UK company (16464640) with £10 million public liability insurance. Drivers are licensed and Enhanced DBS checked. Anyone who approaches you in the hall offering a ride is not us — how to spot a tout.
