Airport transfers from Chessington

The resort is genuinely convenient for airports: Heathrow is a straight run north-west via the A243 and M25, and Gatwick is south on the M25 and M23. Families flying in and going straight to the park are one of the most common bookings we handle here, and we carry child seats on request.

Local knowledge: getting around Chessington

The resort entrance is on Leatherhead Road (A243), with the main car parks and the Azteca and Safari hotels signposted from the roundabout. Drop-off and pickup work best at the designated area near the main entrance rather than in the car parks themselves. On peak summer days and during Howl-o-ween the A243 backs up towards the M25, so we recommend allowing extra time in the afternoon.

Main roads

Rail and public transport

Chessington South is the closest station and the end of the branch line from Waterloo, roughly 35 minutes from central London, with Chessington North a stop before it. The station is about a 10-minute walk from the resort entrance, which is why many families book a car for the last leg with luggage and pushchairs.

How long does it take from Gatwick to Chessington?

Gatwick is about 20 miles from the resort, usually 35 min – 55 min via the M23 and M25. Your driver tracks your flight and adjusts the pickup to the actual landing time.

Can you drop us at the Azteca or Safari hotel?

Yes. We drop directly at the resort hotels as well as the main park entrance. Tell us which hotel you are staying at when you book and your driver will take you to the correct entrance.

Do you provide child seats for family transfers?

Yes. Child and booster seats are available on request at no extra charge – tell us the ages of the children when you book so we can fit the right seats and choose a vehicle with enough luggage space.

Can you take a large group to Chessington?

Yes. We run people carriers and larger vehicles for families and groups, including luggage and pushchairs. For parties travelling in more than one vehicle we keep the cars together so everyone arrives at the same time.

Can you collect us at the end of the day?

Yes. We recommend booking the return leg when you book the outbound, as the A243 is busy at closing time. Your driver will meet you at the designated pickup area near the main entrance and will wait if the park empties slowly.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Nothing changes for you. Your driver monitors the flight and adjusts the pickup time to the actual landing time, so you are met when you arrive rather than charged for waiting. This applies to every airport transfer we run to Chessington.
