Our Pricing Commitment

The quote is the price. No surge. Ever.

A public commitment you can hold us to — written plainly, with the exceptions stated honestly rather than buried.

The Rushxo Price Promise

  1. The quote is the price. The fare agreed at booking is the fare you pay for the journey as booked.
  2. We never surge. Not in a storm, not on a strike day, not at 3am on New Year's Eve. Demand does not change your price.
  3. No meter. Time in traffic is our cost, not yours. A jam on the M25 costs you nothing.
  4. Tolls and airport charges are included. Crossing charges and the airport drop-off fee are in the quoted fare, not added afterwards.
  5. Free arrival waiting. Delayed flight, slow passport queue — your driver waits, and the fare doesn't move.
  6. Night costs the same as day. There is no unsociable-hours surcharge.
  7. We will tell you when we're not the cheapest. If the train is better value for your trip, we'd rather say so.

01 / WHYWhy we don't surge

Surge pricing isn't irrational. It exists for a real economic reason: when demand outstrips supply, raising the price does two things — it rations the scarce cars to those who value them most, and it pulls more drivers onto the road to meet the demand. On its own terms, it works.

Our objection isn't that surge is economically illiterate. It's that it fails the customer at precisely the moment they need you most. The surge hits when the flight lands late, when the strike is announced, when it's pouring with rain at midnight. You are charged the most exactly when you have the least choice. That is a defensible business model. It is not a defensible promise.

So we made a different trade. We price a journey on what it actually costs us to run — distance, time, vehicle, tolls — and we hold that price regardless of what the weather or the airline does. Sometimes that means we earn less on a chaotic night than a surging competitor. That's the deal. It's the whole product.

02 / MODELHow the fare is actually built

There's no mystery to it, and we'd rather show you than have you wonder.

What we price onWhat we don't price on
Distance from your pickup postcode to your destination How busy it is right now
Expected journey time for that route The weather
Vehicle class (saloon, executive, MPV, 8-seat) Whether there's a strike or an event
Passengers and luggage The time of day or night
Tolls and airport charges (included, not added) How desperate you appear to be

It's a distance-and-time model with a vehicle multiplier — the same inputs every time, which is exactly why the output is predictable. Because the price is set before you travel, the risk of traffic sits with us, not with you. That's not generosity; it's just where the risk belongs. We are the ones who know the roads.

03 / EXCEPTIONSThe honest exceptions

A promise with no exceptions is a lie, so here are ours. The fixed fare covers the journey as booked. The price can legitimately change if you change the journey: adding stops, changing the destination, adding passengers or luggage that need a bigger vehicle, or waiting substantially beyond the included free waiting period. Standard cancellation terms apply, and there may be a charge for exceptional cleaning — the same as any operator.

What will never change the price: traffic, weather, demand, delays, the time of day, or a strike. Those are ours to absorb, and that is the entire point of the promise.

Site owner: confirm these exception terms match your actual booking conditions before publishing, and align the wording with your T&Cs. A pricing promise you cannot honour is worse than no promise at all — both commercially and under UK consumer protection rules.

05 / HONESTWhere we're not the answer

We are not always the cheapest, and we won't pretend to be. If you're travelling alone with light luggage into central London, the Tube or Elizabeth line is cheaper than us and always will be. Take the train.

Where a fixed fare genuinely wins: three or more people (rail charges per person, we charge per car), real luggage, children, early departures or late arrivals when the trains aren't running, and any day when certainty matters more than saving a few pounds.

We'd rather you booked us when we're the right answer than felt sold to when we're not. A customer who takes the train today and books us with their family in six months is worth more than one who feels overcharged once.
