Eastern Docks terminals (Ocean, QEII) are reached via Dock Gate 4 off the A33 Platform Road. Western Docks terminals (Mayflower, City, Horizon) via Dock Gate 10 off the A33 West Quay Road. All five sit within roughly 1–1.5 miles of Southampton Central station.
From the M3 and M27, follow the A33 toward the docks, then signs for your Dock Gate (4 for Eastern, 10 for Western). A fixed-price taxi drops you at the passenger entrance with no car-park walk.
Southampton Central is roughly 1–1.5 miles from the terminals. City and Horizon are within about a 15-minute walk; the others are a short taxi hop, which is easier with cruise luggage.
Southampton Airport (SOU) is about 5 miles away; Heathrow around 1 hr 15 min and Gatwick around 1 hr 30 min by road. We run fixed-price transfers from all three.

Most lines open check-in between 11am and 1pm, with boarding closing 60–90 minutes before departure. Arrive within your allocated window to keep queues short.
Porters take your labelled cases at the terminal luggage drop. A taxi means no dragging bags from a distant car park or the station.
For a one or two-week cruise, a return fixed-price transfer often beats port parking — and your car isn't left at the docks for a fortnight.
The fare confirmed at booking is the total charged at the terminal. No surge, no night rate, no luggage extras — whatever the traffic or the hour.
Most disembarkations finish by 10–11am. Book the return at the same time; your driver is confirmed in advance and waits at the arrivals exit.
Every driver holds a TfL Private Hire licence, DBS check and professional insurance — the right standard for a cruise transfer.
It's the most common question Southampton cruise passengers ask — and the honest answer surprises people: there is no fixed rule. The Port of Southampton allocates berths sailing by sailing, so the same cruise line, and even the same ship, can depart from different terminals on different dates. Lists online that claim "P&O always uses Mayflower" or "Cunard always uses Ocean" are unreliable for exactly this reason.
The only source that is always correct is your own cruise documentation. Your e-ticket, boarding pass or cruise-line app states the terminal name for your specific sailing. Once you have that name, the finder at the top of this page gives you the exact postcode for sat-nav, the berth number, the dock gate to follow, and the passenger drop-off point.
Southampton's terminals split across two dock areas. Ocean (SO14 3QN) and QEII (SO14 3GG) sit in the Eastern Docks, reached via Dock Gate 4 off the A33 Platform Road. Mayflower (SO15 1HJ), City (SO15 1BS) and Horizon (SO15 1AW) are in the Western Docks, reached via Dock Gate 10 off the A33 West Quay Road. Horizon is the newest of the five, opened in 2021. Following the right gate matters — the docks are large and the gates are some distance apart.
A cruise is unlike any other trip: miss embarkation and there is no next sailing and no refund. A pre-booked fixed-price transfer removes the two biggest day-of risks — price surprises and driver availability — because the fare is locked and your driver is allocated when you book, not on the morning. That certainty is the whole point.
