Nottingham: an arena wedged into a city

Collection sits outside the quarter
The streets immediately around the arena are narrow, one-way in places and full of people the moment a show ends. We hold on a wider road a few minutes' walk out, towards the station side, where a vehicle can actually turn and leave. For a coach the walk is slightly longer again, because the Lace Market simply cannot take one.
The compactness is a genuine benefit
Because everything sits close together, an evening in Nottingham needs almost no internal transport. Eat in the Lace Market, walk to the arena, walk back. Compared with the Etihad campus or the NEC, that is a considerable saving in both money and hassle.
Day return works, just about
At three and a quarter to four hours each way this sits alongside Sheffield as one of the northern-ish arenas you can turn round in a night. Leave mid-afternoon, home around two. Longer than Birmingham, shorter than Manchester, and comfortably manageable for a group who would rather not pay for a room.
Ice hockey is a different booking
Panthers fixtures are regular, family-heavy and finish earlier than a concert. If your group goes more than once a season it is worth arranging the fixtures together, which keeps the pricing consistent and holds the vehicle for your dates.
