TfL chose the Charing Cross branch, not Bank.
Before Night Tube launched, TfL found that night-time demand was consistently higher on the Northern line's Charing Cross branch (serving the West End, Waterloo, Camden) than on the Bank branch (serving the City). Bank Underground station has also needed extensive overnight engineering access for a major rebuild programme, which made overnight running there impractical. The result: London Bridge, Borough and Elephant & Castle's Northern line platforms never get Night Tube, on any night of the week, engineering works or not.
The fix is simple once you know it — walk to the Jubilee line platforms at the same station instead. Same building, different line, and it runs all night on Fridays and Saturdays.
